Susan Italo spoke of the possibility of recycling used and unused toner printer cartridges with their company named Galaxy. Galaxy would collect, sort and write a check to Villanova. Possible fundraising option for the auction with bin at the door as you enter or a competition per class. Bring in a cartridge and get a pass for Spirit wear free day. It could be advertised with the newspaper, facebook and Nova Notes. Include it with Earth day or with the Recycle Club. Andrew will speak with Mrs. Hoffer.
Valeria De Luna (dorm parent) wanted to thank the parents that helped decorate the dorms for Christmas. She wanted to thank the parent guild for including the dorm staff in teacher/staff appreciation. She gave a calendar of events the international students will be involved in for the next two months. She wants to invite day students to any of these events. Trips to UCSB, Museums, and many more. There will be an Easter celebration and all day students are welcome to attend. Any outings a day student family goes to could include a dorm student. Email permission from their parent is needed. Sleepovers can also be arranged. Stop by the dorm office in Cantwell Hall. International parents would like to have another parent (student same grade level) to pen pal with. If interested call Valeria. March 16, 2012 is the boarder dance, other activities will be available. There was discussion over a parent to parent directory. If a parent has a question or wants to share information with another parent.
Treasurers report: No major changes. Recent events were the Jr. Leadership Mass and Teacher Appreciation. Thank you to the Sophomore parents who helped Mrs. Hanson with decorating and serving. Also, thank you to Mrs. Penrith and all those who helped with the teacher appreciation. The memorial for Mr. Horgan was also well attended by Villanova students/ staff. Thank you Mrs. Berryman and those who helped with the lunch after the memorial.
Upcoming Events: Lisa Anderson is still meeting for the auction. Collecting donation gifts at this time from businesses. Every gift of $100 value will receive a ticket for drawing of $1000. off next year tuition. Wish list for auction proceeds include: Smart Boards for a more classrooms, Ventilation for the gym, Theater curtain.

New Business: Parent Guild Hospitality needed. Call Gigi Gehres to provide snacks at our meetings. Survey is still waiting responses regarding when to best have meetings.
Jeanne Brown shared that teachers' giving is at 40% for the 100% Villanovan campaign. Parents response is at 17% . This campaign is needed for a grant that Villanova could receive. Seating name plates can be ordered for the new theater. In June will be a Family Bocce Ball Day. She is working on estate planning to build our endowment. Also, alumni giving for Adopt a Student.
Carol Hoffer and her team finished the WASC accreditation book. She will be meeting with some parents when the WASC team visits on March 4-7.
