Dear Villanova Parents and Families,
My name is Don Diaz. I have the privilege of being your Parents Guild President for a second year. Last year was a very positive and personally rewarding experience for me. I look forward to sharing a similar experience with each of you in the coming school year.
This year we are requesting that each family set a goal of 40 hours of participation in school related activities. To some of you this may seem to be a lofty or burdensome goal. To others it will be easily met. This is a common requirement at other Catholic and private schools in our area. Since this is the first year we are making such a request, we are being liberal with our definition of “participation”. In fact, we are asking that each of you tell us what you are doing to meet the goal and that you keep track of the time spent. The activity should be an effort that benefits multiple students or the school in general.
For our son Sean, who is entering his third year at Villanova as a member of the class of ’09, I feel that there is no better way to teach him the qualities of love, truth and community than by example.
Please view your service as a positive and valuable experience for you and your Villanova student. I guarantee that you will have fun in the process.
We have open positions in both the Parents Guild and the Booster Club for the coming year. Please come to the first meeting of the new school year on Tuesday, August 21st at 7:00 PM.
