The College Counseling Office works individually with students to guide them as they search for a college that best meets their academic, personal and social needs.
Counselors serve as a resource of information and advice for students and parents. They meet individually with students in each grade, present information in small class groups, and offer several day and evening programs throughout the year for students and parents.
Counselors serve as a link to college admission officers—helping them to understand Villanova students' accomplishments and experiences. In addition, the College Counseling Office hosts admissions officers from many colleges and universities across the United States, giving students the opportunity to make direct contact with these college representatives and to gather information about various schools of interest.
Graduates of Villanova Preparatory School attend prestigious colleges and universities throughout the state and nation. The guidance counselor provides support for students by discussing, assessing, and advising them on personal matters or college and career goals. The guidance counselor also helps students resolve issues that may affect their social and emotional well-being.
Students may receive an appointment with the guidance counselor by self-referral, referral from a faculty or staff member, or referral from his/her parents. If the guidance counselor determines that the student needs further counseling, off-campus resources are available.
