Our mathematics department provides a course of study that provides a sound basis for university level courses. We believe that mathematics is a cohesive whole, not a collection of disjointed disciplines. Algebra, logic, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus should form a unified course of study.

    Our mathematics students will develop a proficiency in the use of various mathematical techniques as tools in problem solving, as we seek to foster an appreciation for the theoretical foundations of mathematics and its practical applications.

    We seeks to develop students who are adept problem solvers, able to focus clearly on the needed result, and then arrive at solutions using a variety of strategies at their disposal. Our students are led to develop logical thinking and manipulative skills necessary to obtain solutions. Our mathematics students will be helped to become rational thinkers, capable of applying abstract concepts to real-world problems, a primary skill needed to cope successfully in a world of rapid change.
