    Step 1:
We encourage you to inquire. This gets the conversation started. We also encourage you to schedule a visit. Please reach out to our admission team if you have any questions or call us at (805) 646-1464.

    Step 2:
Visit our school! There are a number of ways to interact with our school community. Due diligence requires you to visit your schools of interest multiple times.

    Step 3:
Register for the Entrance Exam. You can read here which test(s) we accept and need for your admission application.

    Step 4:
Apply! By completing the general portion of your application, you will then gain access to your application portal.

    Step 5:
Use the application portal to email your teachers the recommendation links. You can monitor their progress and send them a reminder email if it’s been a week or two (or if the due date is rapidly approaching!).

    Step 6:
Download the Student Writing Sample and the Request for Transcript. These are the only papers you will need for your application, as everything else for admission is online in your application portal. Drop the Request for Transcript off at the office of your current school. They will send us the document directly. We do require our writing sample to be handwritten. (We found the digital writing samples were not an authentic representation of the student’s ability, so we rolled this back to the ol’ pen and paper.)

    Step 7:
Complete the Parent Statement online and upload the Student Writing Sample. Yes, we do want to see your handwriting, though we do not judge you on penmanship. We’ve found over the years that a handwritten sample of your work is more authentic than the typed version.

    Step 8:
Schedule the Interview! Once most of your application items are received, we will reach out to you to schedule the interview.

We do accept common applications, such as the Standard Application Online (SAO), A Better Chance (ABC), and The Association of Boarding Schools (TABS) Admission Application.

Applications are due February 1, 2021
