  • Quarantine Procedures for Resident Arrival

The state has not released updated guidance for schools. We will alert you once we react to any upcoming guidance updates.

We currently anticipate that any unvaccinated students will need a negative COVID test result from the 72 hours prior to arrival.  Students would then need to quarantine for 7 days with a negative COVID test after day 5.  The 7 day quarantine would be a strict quarantine on campus.

Students who are fully vaccinated would not be required to quarantine.  If the state or county mandates a stricter quarantine or testing requirement, we will be required to follow that guidance.

  • Hello New Resident!

The course list is likely to be sent in the beginning of June. You should receive information about the book list in that email, but we are sharing with you some insight into that now. And a whole lot more...

    • PlusPortals and the Book List

      • PlusPortals may be accessed from villanovaprep.org by clicking on the links to Parent Portal and/or Student Portal.

      • PlusPortals is the program for parents & students to track grades and progress of assignments. Account information and instructions will be provided after the first day of school. This cannot be sent earlier.

      • Many items, such as the book list, are available on PlusPortals without logging in. The book list is organized by department.

    • iPad and E-books/iBooks

      • Students will receive their iPads in the first week of school.

      • It is important that you purchase digital books only after the student receives his iPad. As a new student, the account associated with the iPad has not been activated and the process of downloading your books will be easier after the iPad is set up. Teachers can also walk students through the process during the first few days. The most common app for buying books is iBooks by Apple which will connect to each student’s Villanova Apple ID. Students should have iTunes gift cards or a debit card in order to purchase these books.

    • Purchasing books

      • Purchasing your books is easily completed by using our online book store (MBS), which will open on July 5.

      • You are welcome to use other retailers such as Amazon, eBay, rental options, libraries, etc. When searching outside of MBS, the ISBN MUST MATCH because these are connected to specific editions or versions. (See an example below) The ISBN is often located on the barcode on the back of the book.

    • Shipping to Villanova

      • Ship your book orders to Villanova and use your FULL NAME. We can hold your books for you until you arrive in August in time for our quarantine/orientation period.

    Villanova Preparatory School

    Attention: (Student’s Full Name)

    12096 N. Ventura Ave.

    Ojai, CA 93023

    • We can help you order your books when you arrive in August. There will still be time to obtain your books by the first day of school. Often, ordering books earlier presents you the opportunity to find better prices, especially with used books.

    • School supplies

      • On the first day of classes, teachers will provide a syllabus which will include required supplies.  The first few days will include introductory sessions and programming provided by the Academic and Counseling Departments.

      • Pencils, pens, and paper are all that is needed on the first day of school. Students will have a couple of days (usually the weekend) to obtain the necessary supplies.

      • We will, of course, take you school shopping to ensure that you have everything you need to be successful on the first day of school.

    • Dress Code Update

      • Villanova requires a standardized polo shirt, which you may purchase from Dennis Uniforms here. Our dress code is available on our website. Bottoms, such as pants, shorts, skirts, do not have to be purchased through Dennis Uniforms.

    • Athletics

      • If you are interested in joining a sport at Villanova, please contact the coaches for the fall sports listed below:

      • Girls Volleyball: Lauren Griffin, lgriffin@villanovaprep.org

      • Girls Tennis: Brian Ford, bford@villanovaprep.org

      • Boys Football: Tim Settem: tsettem@villanovaprep.org

      • Boys Water Polo: Tim Settem: tsettem@villanovaprep.org

      • Basketball, Tim Settem: tsettem@villanovaprep.org

    • Tuition

      • In June, you will receive a tuition invoice from the business office, sent from statements@villanovaprep.org. First tuition payment is due in July.

    • Arrival

      • All residents should plan to arrive for check-in between August 1-3.  A welcome dinner is planned for August 2, along with a parent networking golf event in the morning of August 3.  Parents’ final farewell is August 3 at 4:00pm (or earlier).  This is when formal orientation begins for all resident students.  We encourage parents to then depart the region, allowing your student to fully immerse into the program and begin making new friends.

      • More details about the Resident Orientation will be sent out closer to the time of arrival.

      • Find the “What to Bring” list here.

    • Orientation for Day students, Residents do attend

      • Day Student Orientation will be in-person on August 14, beginning at 10AM. Students and parents will attend sessions on technology, student life, and academics. We plan to offer lunch (just like a regular school day) for all in attendance, and then have activities for students and a parent meeting. The day should conclude around 2:30PM.

      • Residents will participate in this day. It is not required for resident parents to attend this day.

If you have any further questions, please reply to this email or call 805-646-1464.

    See you in August!

April 15, 2021

  • Welcome Wildcat Dinner is April 22

We are excited to have you on campus, together for the first time! We are allowed to host up to 100 for this event, and the protocols require assigned seating. Please send us the name of each person attending.

Students are welcome to arrive at 4:30PM for activities. Parents, a meeting will begin at 5:15PM with Mr. Grisin and Ms. White. Dinner is served at 6PM. We understand family life is busy. Attending all or part of the afternoon’s lineup is better than none!

Course Request forms are now available on your Enrollment Checklist

Please download the pdf, mark your preferred courses, and upload the document into your enrollment portal. Course Request forms should be submitted by April 30.

Counselors will review your course request forms and reach out to you to schedule a meeting in June. If you are not able to meet in June, appointments will also be available in late July and early August.

    Placement tests in May

If you are interested in an advanced math or English course, or are already fluent in Spanish, then we encourage students to take the placement tests. Our preference is that you take the placement tests even if you are not interested in honors level courses. We seek to ensure that students are challenged at the appropriate levels.

    Welcome to Wildcat Weekly

Sent on Friday afternoons, this is a recap of recent events, as well as a look forward for the entire school community. You should receive this around 4PM. If you don’t, or if there are other email addresses you’d like to add to the email list, then click here to sign up for the WW.

    Anticipated Calendar

This document outlines the school year and details all holidays and breaks. A copy of this can be found on Plus Portals, which you can access from the homepage by clicking either the student or parent portal links. A link to the document is also available at the top of this page.

    Next up:

The Booklist, Villanova polos and PE Uniforms

Once we process the course request forms for new students, along with the results of the placement tests, we will send the course list via email. This is the list of classes you will be attending and you will receive your class schedule (the exact order of these classes) via email before the first day of school. The course list allows you to begin purchasing your books. More information will come regarding the booklist in early June. We will also send information at that time about ordering you Villanova polos from Dennis uniforms, as well as PE uniforms for the Fit for Life class.

    School Supplies

Welcome to high school! The supplies that students will need are far simpler than elementary school. On the first day of school, teachers will go over their course syllabus, including any necessary supplies, and give the student the upcoming weekend to obtain necessities. Arriving with pen, pencil, and paper is sufficient for the start of school.

    Plus Portals

After the first day of school, you will receive access to Plus Portals, the student and parent portal to check students’ grades. Any important information that is needed prior to the first day of school, such as the booklist or the anticipated calendar, can be found on Plus Portals homepage without logging in.

    Summer Sports

A list of coaches will be made available to new students and families toward the end of the year. Some sports conduct summer practice. Students may engage in these activities once 1) they have a sports medical examination complete and 2) both Villanova and your current school have had the last day of school.

    August Orientation

While residents check in August 2-4, Orientation for all students will be on Saturday, August 14, starting at 10AM. Save the Date! Lunch will be provided for all families, and we hope to have our traditional pool party!
