Villanova Prep Celebrates Catholic Schools Week

Villanova joined Catholic Schools all across the nation in celebrating Catholic Education from January 31st to February 5th. Each day had a theme where we celebrated a different aspect that make Catholic Schools great. See some of the highlights below!

Sunday: Celebrate Your Parish

On Sunday Fr. Barnaby celebrated Mass at Villanova’s enighboring parish St. Thomas Aquinas. There he spoke on the importance of Catholic Education and gave gifts to the parishioners from Villanova.

Monday: Celebrate Your Community

On Monday the Wildcats celebrated our community by honoring our first responders and emergency personnel. In their Theology classes, students made poster board cards for our firefighters, healthcare workers, law enforcement, EMTs and basic needs providers. A group of students dropped these cards off on Monday.

Thursday: Celebrate Vocations

On Thursday we celebrated vocations. We were joined by Fr. Mike Sezzi from Bishop Alemany High School who is the uncle of Villanova Junior Noah Sezzi. Fr. Sezzi offered Mass at the grotto for all vocations past and present. We are grateful for Fr. Sezzi’s vocation and for the vocations of Fr. Barnanby Johns, Fr. Gary Rye and Sr. Rachel Yourgules who all serve Villanova.

Friday: Celebrate our Teachers

Today we celebrated our tremendous faculty during Catholic Schools Week. Typically, the Parent Association throws the faculty an amazing luncheon, but this year that wasn’t possible due to the pandemic. Instead, they surprised us this morning with these lovely gifts. Thank you so much to all of our parents, we appreciate your efforts so much!
