We celebrate our rich and diverse cultures by hosting a variety of events annually, including the Chinese Moon Festival Hot Pot Dinner, La Posada, International Day, and the Chinese New Year Dinner. Chinese Moon Festival is a festival for the reunion of families. Villanova is a big family and Chinese Moon Festival Hot Pot Dinner provides us an opportunity to enjoy family happiness with Chinese delicacy. Las Posadas takes place on the first Saturday night of December in which two students re-enact Mary and Joseph's search for lodging on Christmas Eve, featuring live music and delicious homemade tamales. Las Posadas is an event you don't want to miss. International Day is the heart of culture at Villanova. At lunch, students serve traditional food from their cultures that they have prepared. Afterward, in the gym, students perform traditional and modern dances from their displaying the beauty and ubiquity of each culture. The biggest event of each year in China must be Chinese New Year. As a multicultural school, Villanova is sure to participate in this event. Each January 1st in the lunar calendar, all students and staffs have dinner together in a Chinese restaurant. There are fun activities, wonderful performances and even raffle with great prices after the dinner.
