Dr. Robert Arce, Chair of the Building and Grounds Committee
Robert was a professor at Ventura College for 40 years. He and his wife Suzanne have six children. They reside in Ojai.Ms. Katie Austin, Instruction & Student Life CommitteeKatie was born and raised in Ojai. She graduated from Villanova in 2006 and attended St. Mary’s College. She went on to obtain her teaching credential and masters degree from the University of San Francisco. Heidi has a degree in Art. She and her husband Michael, former Ventura County District Attorney, own a ranch in Ojai. Their sons, Michael '14 and Sean '16, are alumni of Villanova. David was the President and CEO of Ojai Community Bank. He has 26 years of banking experience mainly in Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties. He and his wife Karen have two children. They reside in Ventura.Mr. Michael Calderwood, Building and Grounds, Finance, and Development Committees
Michael is a dedicated business executive with over 40 years of experience across many aspects of business. During his career, he's held executive positions with Toshiba, Sanyo and NCR. His areas of expertise are in Sales, Marketing, Administration, Mergers and Acquisitions. Michael and his wife Rebbecca reside in Ventura.Mr. Edwin Hearn, Development Committee
Ed is currently President at St. Augustine High School, San Diego and has been with the school for over 12 years. He previously served as principal at Brophy College Preparatory, and as an administrator and football coach at Loyola High School in Los Angeles.Mr. John Howard, Development CommitteeJohn has been practicing law in Ventura County since 1979. He is a past President of the Ventura County Bar Association (1997), the Ventura County Trial Lawyers Association (1992), the California Coast Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (2004) and various other organizations. John has been a volunteer coach at Villanova since 2003 and he lives in Ojai with his wife JoAnn. They are the parents of two Villanova alumni, James '04 and Jonna '05.Deac. Br. Barney has been an Augustinian since 2004 and at Villanova since 2017. He is currently Campus Minister and was also elected as councilor for the 2019-2022 Province Council. Br. Barney attended boarding school in Worcester, England, and graduated from Anglia University in Cambridge. He has lived in Pakistan and taught english in Tokyo. Michelle is principal at St. Raphael School in Santa Barbara. She holds a bachelor's degree from St. Mary's College, and master's degree in early childhood education from University of Phoenix. She has served as principal at St. Anthony School in Oxnard, as well as a physical education teacher, a master teacher, a tutoring coordinator and a technology leader at Peabody Charter School.Mr. Michael Ronan, Development Committee
Mike is principal at St. Mary Magdalen School in Camarillo. He holds a bachelor's degree and two master's degrees from University of Notre Dame. Mike previously served as an administrator and teacher at St. Augustine Catholic School in Dallas, TX. Mike, his wife, Melissa, and their two sons reside in Camarillo.Very Rev. Father Sanders joined the Order of St. Augustine in 1967 and was ordained in 1975. Father Sanders has served as pastor at St. Patrick's Church, San Diego and Our Mother of Good Counsel, Hollywood. He has also been a teacher and administrator at Villanova. Elected in 2018 as Provincial of the Augustinians of the West, Father Sanders has served two previous terms as Provincial.Mr. Thomas Susanka, Finance Committee
Tom is the Director of Gift Planning at Thomas Aquinas College. Tom has been a member of the College's administrative faculty for almost 40 years, first as admissions director and, since 2004, as director of gift planning. Tom and his wife Therese, reside in Ojai, and frequently attend weekday morning Mass at Villanova's chapel.
Mr. Richard Taylor, Chair of the Board of Directors, Chair of the Development Committee
Richard is a family law attorney practicing in Ventura County. He is the past board chair of the Ventura College Foundation and has extensive fundraising experience. He and his wife Kristin reside in Ventura and are the parents of twin boys who are Villanova alumni, Michael '86 and Robert '86.
Rev. Max Villeneuve, O.S.A., Appointed Member
Fr. Villeneuve has been an Augustinian since 2013 and was ordained in 2018. He is currently serving his second year at St. Augustine High School, San Diego where he is currently Director Christian Service. Fr. Villeneuve was also elected as a member of the 2019-2022 Province Council.
Dr. James Walker '54, Instruction & Student Life Committee
Dr. Walker is an alumnus of the Villanova Class of 1954 and previously served on the board for more than 10 years, including one term as chair. Having retired as president of Moorpark College in 2002, he currently teaches at California Lutheran University and operates Community College Search Services. He lives in Westlake Village and has two children.
Sr. Rachel Yourgules, M.M.C., Instruction & Student Life and Mission Effectiveness Committees
Sr. Rachel holds a bachelor's degree from California State University, Dominguez Hills and master's degree from the University of San Francisco. Sr. Rachel has 40 years of teaching and school administrative experience and this is her 10th year at Villanova. She resides in Ojai.
