Brian’s connection to Villanova is longstanding: his older brother Michael graduated in 1998, his cousin Nicole attended from 2001 to 2004, and currently, his niece and nephew, Molly and Jack, are continuing the family tradition. After graduating in 2000, Brian, like many Southern California natives, initially sought a career in the film industry. He subsequently enrolled at Chapman University in Orange, CA, where he studied Screenwriting. Nonetheless, various professional experiences within the industry—including an internship at the Cannes Film Festival—prompted him to reconsider his vocational direction. Following his return from France, Brian transitioned to Economics and ultimately established his career in Finance.

Nonetheless, his longstanding aspiration was to enter the field of medicine. While employed in Finance following graduation, he made the definitive decision to pursue this goal. Consequently, he enrolled in a pre-health professions post-baccalaureate program at California State University, Fullerton, where he completed the necessary coursework in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Calculus.

After achieving a 3.8 GPA and scoring within the 90th percentile on the MCAT, he applied to several medical schools and was accepted to three institutions. He chose to matriculate at Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska, where he completed four rigorous years of study. Subsequently, he elected to pursue a specialty in Psychiatry and fulfilled a four-year General Psychiatry residency at the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Reno.

His background in Psychiatry encompasses a broad range of experiences, including service in the emergency department of a psychiatric hospital in Oakland, a tenure as Medical Director at a sub-acute facility in Ventura County, and work in Forensic Psychiatry. In 2021, he relocated to Boston to advance his interests in healthcare administration, earning a Master of Healthcare Administration from Harvard University over two years. He has subsequently returned to Ventura County and is presently employed with the LA County Department of Mental Health.

Brian regards his years at Villanova as instrumental to his development. During his time there, he established enduring friendships, participated in four years of varsity soccer and baseball and was also a proud member of the Zulus on Wildcat Day. He has notable memories of Mr. Bunce’s rendition of “The Night Before Christmas.” Brian looks forward to returning to campus to engage with students regarding the challenging yet fulfilling profession of medicine.
