COLLEGE COUNSELING
Our college counselors provide academic, college, and wellness support for students through classroom programming in the grade-level Seminar courses and individual meetings. We provide support for parents and families through fellowship opportunities in evening programming. With a cultivated network of expert individuals and professionals, our college counselors serve as a dynamic and up-to-date resource for parents and students to and through college.

Meet the Counselors
Jessica Benson, School Counselor
Jessica Benson joined Villanova in 2006 after working in the college admission office at Mount St. Mary's University in Los Angeles.Jessica holds a bachelor's degree in business and psychology from Mount St. Mary's as well as a master's degree in counseling and guidance from California Lutheran University. She also holds a Pupil Personnel Services credential awarded by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Jessica supports our freshman and sophomore classes, is a member of our Administrative Council, and moderates our Mentor Program for resident students.
Ayesha King, Director of College Counseling
Ayesha King joined Villanova in 2019 as our Director of College Counseling. Ayesha is a Southern California native, and holds a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Redlands and a master’s degree in business administration from California Lutheran University. Ayesha began her admission work in college, and was drawn to working with students during this pivotal moment in life. After working in law admissions for a few years, in 2014, she moved to California Lutheran University where she served as an admission counselor. Working with students from all over California and the state of Nevada, her main goal is to help students find the right fit and to support students on their path to a college degree. She also serves as Villanova’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Coordinator, connecting the school’s mission to equity, inclusion, and social justice.
Amy Richardson, College Counselor for Resident Students
Amy has worked as the English Immersion and Support (EIS) Coordinator for many years at Villanova. Also serving for three years as a member of Villanova's Resident Staff, Amy has enjoyed living on campus and mentoring all residents. She has also served as the Senior Class Moderator and especially loved her involvement in organizing students cooking and preparing meals for International Day, a great Villanova tradition. When not on campus, Amy can most often be found at Disneyland.
