Coach Sean Madlem begins his 3rd season leading Wildcat Football. A Villanova Alumni, former Division III quarterback, & husband, Sean is quietly building a competitive program focused on the Augustinian Values of Unitas (Unity), Veritas (Truth), and Caritas (Love/Charity). With a veteran squad returning, Coach Madlem predicts a winning season & is hoping to land the Wildcats in the CIF-SS Playoffs.
Coach Madlem runs a year-round program focusing on Agility, Speed, & Strength. The Summer Pre-Season Program began June 15th & continues up to the start of school. The team workouts are Tuesday thru Friday morning, 7:30 to 9:30 AM. Individual position group focused practices are on Saturdays from 7:00 to 11:00 AM.
Practices begin in earnest Saturday, August 15th, once all resident students have returned to campus. Equipment fitting begins promptly at 7:30 AM. Games are typically Friday nights & Saturday afternoons beginning the end of August. The regular season concludes the last week of October. The team’s game schedule can be found on MaxPreps
Given the football roster size, buses are often chartered for away games. However, school vans & parent assistance is welcomed. Football Spirit Packs include a number of items including a T-shirt, practice shorts, game day polo, etc. There are varied & potentially successful football fundraisers including a Lift-A-Thon, gameday gate & snack bar, & the Athletics Banner Program. The team’s Lift-A-Thon is a biannual fundraiser taking place at the start of Training Camp and the end of Spring Ball. Coach Madlem communicates regularly using the TeamReach app, Group Code VPFB2025.
